The most important thing we can do for breastfeeding women is to empower
them to say things like this to their primary care providers:
"I want to continue nursing. There are many different kinds of medicines
right now that can accomplish the same thing. I WANT to continue nursing.
You are my doctor and I expect you to work with me on this. It is your job
as my doctor to find the most compatible drug that will get rid of my
problem and let me continue to breastfeed. I WANT TO CONTINUE NURSING.
Thanks,"
