Linda wrote (replying to Missy at The Newborn Channel):

"You asked me to include in this letter the stories of two well-educated
clients in my community who improperly used formula. ""

Linda, you related two great examples. But I am rather miffed at the
defensive attitude Missy and The Newborn Channel is taking. Did Missy imply
that only babies who had uneducated mothers were ever harmed from not
breastfeeding? This clearly shows that she does not "get it", especially
when research shows the life-long benefits to all babies and the substantial
benefits to mothers of all educational (and implied financial) backgrounds.
Possibly even more shocking is what was implied in her "demanded" proof that
even "educated" mothers could abuse formula. Documented research aside, if
there "was" proof that only babies from "uneducated" mothers incorrectly used
formula, would Missy be so callous that she would have no qualms about these
'uneducated" mothers watching the ABM commercials on her channel and then
making the decision to use formula? Or is she only going to market her
Newborn Channel for those hospital rooms used by "educated" mothers?! (tongue
in cheek).
