One of my LC colleagues asked me to post this question to LACTNET: She
is working with a brittle diabetic mom who is having problems with
hyperglycemia post-delivery.  She is breastfeeding but is having a
problem with decreased milk production.  Literature tells us that this
is common with hypoglycemia but have not been able to find information
related hyperglycemia.  We are looking for any information related to
diabetic moms with hyperglycemia and its action or possible action on
breastmilk production. Thanks ahead of time.  So as not to clog up the
