I traveled from New Orleans LA to Atlanta GA for my first exam. There
wasn't an exam site in N.O. The next time I traveled from N.O. to
Jackson MS. These trips required gas and hotel stays. That is an added
expense. There are lots of people who have to travel to take the exam.

I know several people who have decided not to recertify, due to the
expense, and not having a large income. I do think that taking the
entry level exam, then showing a certain amount of cerps (perhaps
yearly, instead of 5-yearly), and practice hours would be more
realistic. Some professions have a certain number of cerps if you work
full time (less cerps) compared to working part time, and those (full
time, part time) hours are defined.

I believe I have to test in 2012, and will have to travel 3 hours one way.
