Dear All,
i have been no-mail for a while but have just come back and was inerested to see the notes about using EBM for mouthcare.
I work as a Midwife in a large hospital in Bristol, England. We have an intensive care baby unit dealing with very premature babies from all over the southwest of England. Mothers are encourages to express milk for their babies from birth and if the mother is only able to obtain a few drops of colostrum the that precious milk is taken to intensive care in a syringe to be used for mouthcare, not a drop is wasted. It is wonderful for mothers to know that every drop of their colostrum is used. I also find it very exciting that the advice given to mothers on breastfeeding is becoming the same all around the world!
Marion Copeland [who should be getting breakfast for 4 daughters!!!]
