Two points I can make here.
1. The OB/GYN isn't the only potential physician for this mom to talk to. She can try her primary doc and /or the baby's doctor. That gives three chances at getting it right. Maybe she might even want to say something about reading about mastitis and it mentioned staph. You get the idea.

2. This is the problem part.
You say you cant say the doctor is wrong? Why not? Or even question the doctor might be wrong.
You know staph is a potential bug in mastitis and amoxil isn't a great staph drug. This raises an ethical question. Knowing what you know how can you not say something?
I don't envy your situation.
