And often moms are not even aware of the subtle ways they encourage
weaning.  I think it tells a lot that one of the founders of La Leche
League once told me that though they thought they were practicing baby led
weaning, they noticed that each child weaned a few months later than the
one before it, leading them to believe the babies were picking up on the
mother's discomfort with "new" territory.
