I received this question from a mother today. I have not talked to her,
just received the question by e-mail. Do any of you know anything about
sulfites?

We have a 23 month old girl with grade 2-3 soy and peanut allergy, and
grade 1 egg white and dairy allergies. The mother is breastfeeding and
mother and child have eliminated all from diet. The mother wants to have
a glass of wine occasionally (would not nurse for several hours after
ingesting), but is concerned that sulfites, another potential allergen,
might be passed to the child through the breast milk. Is there any
evidence of this occurring? Do you think it's ok for the mother to have
the wine?
Thanks for any information you might have.
