This is tragic, and outrageous.  But it is not true that the option to
breastfeed is gone.  I am not claiming it would be easy, but re-lactation is
certainly an option, and one worth putting effort into.

I've worked with couples where both parents were seriously visually impaired
and the thought of trying to ensure that they could safely feed a baby by
any other means than breastfeeding is just impossible.  Kinesthetic sense in
people who don't see, is usually better developed than in sighted people.
The woman I have worked with who learned good positioning quickest, was
almost completely blind.
