Hello,
I would love your input about this mom:Baby nine months old,has been nursing beautifully since birth-no pain, great weight gain,Baby eats some solids(not bf less though)a few days ago mom contacted me because of localized engorgement--as if one quandrant of breast wasnt being drained.she described what sounded like a milk blister but looks totally different-it looks like a crevice in the nipple clogged with a dried milk plug(I hope my description is understood)saline soaks, warm compresses, gentle rubbing, pumping, nursing etc-this "plug" just wont budge (she told me she tried to pull at it as well )and milk won't drain from that part of breast.
she is alternating with ice packs to relieve edema .A breast surgeon had a look at her and said everythings fine...(do I refer her to a different one????)
What would you suggest? What did I overlook?
