After 2 weeks, my letter to the editor was finally published today in  
a large metropolitan newspaper in Virginia (Virginian Pilot 9/19/05).
I am delighted they published it and now have hope that the other  
papers might eventually publish the same letter I sent to them.

Also, my relative at FEMA, who is now working with Admiral  Allen (If  
you are a CNN addict, he is the balding fellow with the frowning  
brow, always standing behind Allen) has responded to my emails and   
assures me he has forwarded the emergency breastfeeding links to  
"somebody who can do something about it."  Whatever that means...  We  
can only hope a seed has been planted about the importance of FEMA's  
role in  breastfeeding during emergencies.
