We've had a few nasty experiences with allergy reactions to Nutramagen and
other hydrolysed feeds, Denise. There are still going to be enough
unhydrolysed cow milk proteins in these feeds so that extremely allergic
babies are still going to react to them. One baby skipped the green stool
stage - just went straight to the bloody stools stage! This mother would
probably do better if she was put on metoclopramide (Reglan in the USA)
10mg/3times daily and the baby supplemented with her milk - more breast
feeds or if necessary, extra breast milk given by other means.
