Sherry has mentioned that Ross is sponsoring an educational dinner for staff
at her hospital. Obviously the staff does not realize who is paying for the
"dinner" or should I say bribery. I wonder if the nurses realize that their
patients are paying for the dinner. I bet if we asked the patients they might
rather have better informed nurses to help with breastfeeding. Please send any
of these invitations and materials from these dinners to NABA as we are
actively working for measures to counter and eliminate this practice.

You have the option of not going and asking others not to go. One group of
breastfeeding advocates created breastfeeding information flyers to counter the
formula hype and passed them out outside the restaurant to people attending
the dinner. They called all of the local media-TV and newspapers especially-
to come and cover the protest and picketing!

You might ask your corporate compliance people if this practice should be
allowed at your hospital.
