Jennifer,
I agree with you about the importance of clipping all the tie. It is so 
important to get the posterior part clipped too. When I first started 
doing this procedure some years ago I didn't always clip the posterior 
tie. The result was that although the feeding improved markedly, some of 
the babies didn't get back to exclusive breastfeeding and had to return 
for us to finish the job! Now I make sure I get the whole thing done in 
one go and have much better results.
There doesn't seem to be any point in leaving the posterior part.
