I was recently down in the Boston 'burbs and had several nurses asking
about the necessity to pump in the first 24 hours for a well-born
infant. They are hearing from "their IBCLCs" that EVERY mother needs
to pump to get Lactogenesis II well established.

I was asked if I knew of any research to back this up - but frankly,
I'm aghast.

Anyone know where this is coming from????

Dawn Kersula in Vermont - where the primips usually have milk at 36-48 hours....
