Hi all,

I have a baby who was born with both a tight frenulum and very recessed
chin.  He was unable to latch and suck, mom pumped and bottle fed.  The
tongue tie has been clipped now and baby is able to suck appropriately on
my finger, but has a complete meltdown when put into the nursing
position.  We were able to get him to take in about 0.5 oz with a nipple
shield yesterday.  He absolutely will not attempt to latch onto mom's
nipple.  He gets so furious that he holds his breath and turns purple.
I don't believe I've seen a baby with such strong opinions at just a few
weeks of age.
Any suggestions?
