Hi All,

I find this very disturbing, and completely agree with sentiments expressed by Liz, Pam and Kika. I think the statement by Kika is particularly important especially for IBCLC’s based far away from the USA. To be a truly international body, IBCLE needs representatives from all the continents where IBCLC’s are based.

“If IBLCE wants to expand its international reach, we believe more energy should be put into translating exam studying material, into meeting with government officials from different countries to present and support our credential, and into simplifying the pathways.”

We pay massive fees to write the IBCLC exams, especially for those of us who live in Africa where exchange rates are crippling and we would love our examination board to represent us and our promote our credentials.

This seems like another way of generating revenue for the international body, rather than addressing key issues listed above.
