I have a case that I am working on and need some help.

Primip mom, delivered 3 months ago, healthy baby girl, mom had  HELLP {HELLP
Syndrome is a condition occurring during pregnancy
with the 3 main characteristics being hemolysis (H), which is the
breaking down of red blood cells, elevated liver enzymes (EL),
and low platelet count (LP).
 It potentially threatens the life of both the mother and baby.}  prior to
delivery, was on MgSO4 for blood pressures, had emergency c section, in ICU,
separated from baby, several days before allowed to nurse the baby, baby
latched and suckled well, milk came in per mom , breast full baby nursed
some and bottled some formula. Didn't have  a lot of lactation help, so when
she came to me last week she was pumping 1 teaspoon of breastmilk per day
with a double up pump and formula feeding, wants to breastfeed, baby will
still latch and suckle till she gets frustrated with no milk.

I started her double pumping with a rented Lactation Select ( she is pumping
6 times per day in the day time, none at night as baby sleeps all night and
she wants to sleep all night too, she started Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle
, now she gets about 1.5 oz per day for a weeks worth of herbs and pumping,
I told her more pumping might help and talked to her about the possibility
of Reglan,,,,,,,,, how long should this take? What expectations should we
have?

I have also suggested the SNS but she doesn't really want to try that
now.......
