Joyce described how cabbage really helped her husband, then wrote, "My
husband tried sharing his experience with the oral surgeon and several staff
members who were there ... My husband's confident they all had a jolly good
laugh after he left. Sad, when it could have helped others."

A couple of years ago when I was invited to give a talk to the College of
Primary Care Physicians on breastfeeding, I took along a slide of engorged
breasts covered in cabbage (taken by the photographer-husband of a suffering
client). I said that *they* might be embarrassed to suggest cabbage to help
with engorgement because it might not be scientific enough, but that I, as
"only an LC" was not! They liked that. Since then I have had several
clients whose *doctors* tell them to use cabbage. So your idea may "take"
Joyce, even though it seemed ridiculous to your husband's surgeon at the time.
