Yo IBCLC folks -- go read your June 2013 IBLCE newsletter. It isn't on the
website yet, but certificants should have received theirs via e-mail.
Great article in there about the very exacting process of writing a
certification exam (which is intended to measure one's ability to practice
as an allied health care provider ... versus a test conducted after a
class, to see if you were paying attention).

AND. **There are four spots coming open on the IBLCE Board.** They wrote:
"Call for Board Nominations. Are you a strategic and collaborative leader
dedicated to IBLCE and the lactation consulting profession? Are you from an
international background and do you have financial or business experience?
If so, please consider serving on the IBLCE Board of Directors! IBLCE is
currently seeking three to four new Board members - application materials
are due July 19."

The link to the application is:

Please. Please. Please. IBCLC practitioners. Those who know and
understand how important the certification organization is to the future of
our profession. Those who want to make sure that on-the-ground IBCLC
practitioners help develop the policies that affect our day-to-day
practice. Those familiar with certification exams; how they are written,
scored and re-written. Please consider submitting an application. Being
one of 16-ish IBLCE Board members, protecting the interests of 26,000+
certificants worldwide, gives you considerable tangible power in shaping
the direction of the IBCLC profession. Please seriously consider this.
