Hi Anne,
Thanks for your input...I can feel your "fury," and I've also gotten a lot
of responses from those on Lactnet similar. I am trying to contain mine and
am in lots of contact with this mom. I have passed on (I think) everything I
know and learned about this including "start eating yogurt" mainly because I
know she feels impotent at times, and needs to do something SHE can control.
She feels so dependent on these docs who tell her everything else, but what
is right, it seems. I never heard of "febrile candidiasis" myself, and could
not find it in the literature either, so thought it might be real new info I
was not aware of.
One doc said her nipples could become permanently tattooed (his word) using
gentian violet!. She is taking this regime of antibiotics, and the ONE dose
of diflucan, ("doctor's orders") and then she will, she says, decide what to
do if she is not better. She feels my help is better than what she has been
told by her docs, but also wants to stick it out with them. Note, she has
changed doctors!
I am sending this as a cc to Lactnet so they get an update. I appreciate
your help and am surprised at the large response to this issue. Must be a
common problem from on the postings and private email I have gotten. When
this is all resolved, maybe I can help some of you! Thanks..
