Re : Depo-Medrol injection

The Depo-Medrol injection is a repository form of methylprednisolone
suspension. It is commonly used intrasynovially (inside the joint) for many
inflammatory conditions. As such, it is slowly absorbed over several weeks
and produces a longer anti-inflammatory response.

The amount injected is almost always less than 80 mg, and this is absorbed
slowly. This is significantly less than the exposure following high doses
of oral prednisolone which we know are of no consequence to a breastfed
infant when used acutely.

I agree with this mom, she should find another doctor.
