Absolutely true that parents can report many poops and have babe with weight
issues!
Have seen this many times and this is the reason why I rely very little on
reported pooping/peeing amts. or frequency etc. to judge nursing
effectiveness, it is way too subjective and even at it's best-unreliable.
Parents need to be taught to assess nursing effectiveness in a more competent
manner. This should and would offer a much better tool to work with.
I have a good friend who asked, while nursing her 2mth old third child (all
nursed) to help her identify what part of the suckling rhythm was a swallow!
She really had no idea and thought every suck was accompanied by a swallow.
