Lactnetters,

For those of you following with me, the saga of the baby whose tongue
doesn't come over the lower gum line (I don't think this is a frenulum
issue): baby is now 2 months old. I just spoke with mom and she said
that he seems to be getting better. After a couple weeks of not trying,
she put him to breast and this time she heard swallows and it didn't hurt
at the beginning of the feeding. Slow and steady we see progres !!!!
Besides just growing, I also think the improvement is related to mom
going off all products with any dairy and citrus. With the oral
hypertonicity reduced, the pain is now only from the tongue problem I
believe. Of course seeing the improvement gives mom a boost
psychologically and I wanted to share the good news with you .........
(thanks to those of you who have responded!)

By the way, the choking with the bottle we were worried about turned out
to be just a worn out bottle teat that was flowing instead of dripping
slowly......pays to SEE what is going on!

I'm looking forward to the next visit with this mom :-)
