Hello all!

Regarding Dr. Ben's post on the tired parents of newborn twins...there
is hope! The best thing they can do is get the breastfeeding off to a
good start. Nursing can literally save the parents of multiples hours
of sleep each night.

Terriann Shell has used a "body pillow" (very long pillow - about 5
feet) to help position mom and babies. Kay Hoover and I have found it
to work very well with several families - including my 7 month old twins
and I). Form the pillow into a horseshoe. Put a bed pillow under
the curved part of the horseshoe. Mom lays down with head on the curve
and rests her arms on the sides of the pillow. The babies then lay down
on their sides in mom's arms. The trio can nurse and sleep all night
long!

Kay's slide set has a great photo of this. I'm also willing to do a
live demo at ILCA.

Hope this is helpful.

Kym Smythe, IBCLC

PS - It was so great to meet so many lactnetters at LLLI! If anyone
took a picture of Kendall and Carlie, my twins, at the conference,
please email me privately. I'm trying to determine the many places
their photo is going for their baby book!
