Hi to all,

I just had to share a great thing that happened yesterday at work! A mom
requested that I watch her latch her baby, and I went in and assisted to
get the baby a little deeper on her breast. As we were talking, she
mentioned that the baby had a hard time latching all night and was on and
off the breast after a few sucks, but that today everything was much better.
As we talked she then mentioned that the pediatrician had clipped the baby's
tongue tie that morning! He had offered to do it right there in the
hospital to get it over with and help with breastfeeding!! This has never
happened before, although we have referred parents to this doctor for
tongue-tie clipping in the past. The parents were actually relieved when I
enthused about what the ped had done---they had not been sure they had made
the right decision, and had not put together that the reason the baby was
latching now was because the frenulum was clipped. J I had actually noticed
something "different" about the frenulum as mom was latching the baby, and I
realize that I have never seen a clipped one before.

So I had to share this; our department had a Christmas party last night, and
I can't believe I forgot to tell everyone!
