In response to Pam Cawley's letter about the letters to the editor in the
newspaper regarding nursing in public I want to say HOW SAD!! I know many
of you must feel my frustration with the public. I wonder, "Can there
possibly still be such ignorance regarding breastfeeding?" How can it be
that there are so many of us living, breathing and sleeping breastfeeding,
talking about it in almost every waking conversation, have loyal mothers
following our every word, out *preaching* breastfeeding on their own, and we
still have comments like those in the paper!!

Do you feel like a crusader, out to tackle the world in a day? I surely do.

I went to Baskin-Robbins the other night (shame on me) and the girls in the
drive through window wanted to know what my license plate says. (NRSURBB)
That's "Nurse your baby". The look on one of their faces was of "ooh, gross,
how disgusting". I wanted to scream. The other one explained "she didn't
breastfeed". I wanted to say, "oooh, gross. How disgusting." But, once
again, I bit my tongue. How to educate the world in a 30 second visit at the
drive through?
