I understand her point.  In hospitals most of the time moms are given nothing 
by mouth for hours on end while they labor.  However, I disagree about it 
making babies hypoglycemic.  Why?  Because women all over the world in 
terrible conditions, that are practically starving all the time don't necessarily 
have babies with low blood sugar levels.  

She makes a good point though and we should still fight to get the babies skin 
to skin to keep up body temps and regulate blood sugar..IMO that is the best 
way to protect against hypoglycemia, and hypothermia, buring too many 
calories to keep warm in the isolettes when they should be nestled between 
the heaters.  :)
