I am a big fan of grumpy! I am all for letting babies decide - except when they're affected by narcotics or recovering from an instrumental or caesarean delivery. (That'd be more than 1/2 on a good day here) However, I think it is a good idea to educate mothers about what they can expect with regard to feed frequency. Most mothers her expect their babies to sleep for 3-4 hours between feeds. I can't count how many times I have heard, "He can't be hungry. I just finished feeding him an hour ago." or worse, "I have low supply. He wants to feed every two hours."
