It has been my experience that the return of menses is as individual as the
mothers. Although early return is sometimes a sign of poor stimulation and
feeding problems. Late return is something to be greatful for. (I'm looking
forward to that part of menopause myself)
I've had many moms in the clinic whose periods did not return for 1-3 months
after they stopped nursing their infants 2-3 years of age. As long as she's
healthy--everything should be fine.
