Hi Lactnetters,
Just returned from Kansas City tonight. Had to get computer so
I could get back to "Lactnet mail". Had a great time. The
meeting of those on Lactnet filled the room. You know how you
have in your mind how you think someone looks? Well seeing them
in person is even better! We have such a lively group someone
came in saying they had been going to another meeting down the
hall, but our group was laughing and sounded better, so she came
in. Now she says she'll join us on-line. Dr. Brian showed up
wearing his gift from Diane Weissinger (sp?)--a black tie with a
big yellow smiley face with it's tongue out. He calls it his
"tongue tie". Dr. Brian wowed them at the conference. He was
to present his session twice, and there was so much interest
they had to move him to the LARGE ballroom for the second one.
Then the sound on the video (he was filmed and it's available to
buy) wasn't good, so he gave the session a 3rd time so they
could film again and it was standing room only! On Saturday
night after 3 full days of sessions no less. Got to meet and
get acquainted with our Mexican Milk Maid--Roberta Graham.
She's as much fun to be with as she "sounded" on Lactnet. I
think we'll be having her back with us when she finally gets
back to the Yucatan. Start saving your dollars--Australia
was lobbying hard to have the conference there in 2000.
Nothing decided yet though. Wish we could have ALL gotten
together in person--but wouldn't that have been overload? Our
Kathy A. got 2 standing ovations for all her work on JHL--
one at the first annual ILCA town meeting the afternoon
preceeding the general meeting and the second one from every-
one at the membership general meeting. It was very moving.
