Hello to all! I am a new IBCLC with a Ph.D. in counseling. I am hoping to
start a private counseling/lactation consultant practice SOON in Tampa,
Florida. However, I have a bit of a dilemma. I would like to come up with a
catchy name that is also somewhat descriptive of what the practice is. This
practice will: provide counseling to women who have post-partum or just
plain mothering blues (gee--I could have used me today!), lactation
consulting, breastfeeding aid rentals and purchases, and in the near
future--post-partum doula services. I thought of the name COMPREHENSIVE
POST-PARTUM CARE (OR SERVICES), but I am concerned that mothers who need LC
help with older infants and children might take the term "Post-Partum" too
literally. Also, this practice may grow to include midwives and pediatric
nurse practitioners, so I might not want to lock into the term: post-partum.
I came up with LACTATION INNOVATIONS and LACTATION STATION, but they don't
include anything about counseling. I have a number of advertizing
opportunities that I cannot afford to miss, so I would like to figure out a
name quickly, and with over 825 subscribers to LACTNET, I would appreciate
anyone who wants to brainstorm. I will also be happy to give honorable
mention on LACTNET to the person who comes up with the name I finally choose.
Also, if anyone would like to provide advice to a novice about starting
a practice, particularly in the State of Florida, please feel free...
