Our hospital is going into an agreement with Columbia. Instead of a 100%
buyout, Columbia will own 50%. I would like to know if any of my fellow
Lactation colleagues have had any experience with Columbia and Lactation
support (or lack of).
Also, I forgot to "formally" introduce myself a few days ago when I made the
leap to write to you all (I had the Hepatitis C issue, and thanks for all
your info). My name is Rose deVigne-Jackiewicz, I work as a Lactation
Consultant in a 61 bed NICU. Thanks for being here.
I had to take an all day CPR class today (my last card expired, bad, bad,
girl I know). THe instuctor was talking about risk factors and contributing
factors to heart disease. I asked her and the class if they had read
anything about the cholesterol in breastmilk and how some experts believe
that getting this cholesterol as a nursing baby, as an adult you may be able
to handly cholestrol better, thus reducing heart disease.... Another
wonderful benefit of human milk for human babies.....

Rose
