As regards eczema and breastfeeding:
Most doctors refer to rice as the best nonallergenic food. But I agree with
the reply that babies can become allergic to anything.
I've always been plagued with many allergies as have most of my family, but
not to rice.
When I was pregnant with my first child I craved Chinese food. Ate it 2-3
times a week. Well, you guessed it, when my daughter was 1 year old and we
had her tested for allergies due to her severe eczema: rice came up #1.
Mothers from allegenic families during pregnancy and breastfeeding should
avoid binging on ANY food, not just the typical allergy causing foods. I
certainly learned my lesson.
By the way, my 31 year old daughter is still allergic to rice. Not severely.
She can have it sometimes. But she never "outgrew" this allergy.
