# had 5 full meconium diapers in the 1st 24 hours of life then one mec
diaper on day 3. After that baby has had none in the next 3 full days.
They are going to their pediatrician tomorrow for a weight check.
/---/ Mom is bursting with milk (has over 60 ounces in the freezer at
day 5 postpartum). #

Let's hope the weight check is ok. A couple years ago I met a mom
whose baby gained ok at the hospital (supplements), but at home the
weight gain was only 20 grams in 7 days (ie. less than one ounce). Mom
was thinking she had way too much milk and expressed several litres
into the freezer. After she began (bottle) feeding the expressed milk
to her baby (instead of freezing it), the weight gain was beautiful.
In a couple of weeks the baby was fully at breast again.

# milk is leaking from this nipple, and the poor mom has a few ducts
under the breast that seem to be connected to this nipple and are
making her very sore and miserable. #

If you compare it to the swelling in the arm pit, which some mothers
suffer, I think the gland tissue in her lower breast (ducts leading to
the supernumerary nipple only) should dry up on its own, if not
emptied. Might take a week or two until the area is comfortable.
