If using lubricants is not enough for severe vaginal dryness, topical
oestrogen would help. I have used it several times in women with
established milk supplies, and the amount of oestrogen that gets into
their bloodstream from topical application seems so minimal that it
hasn't affected the milk supply.
It is also useful if there is a lot of very firm painful scarring
from an episiotomy, and physio etc just isn't enough.

Hope this helps

Fiona
