Hi, all ~ There is a rather 'high end' baby supply store in my town (two
locations), and I would very much like to have my LC contact information
available to moms who shop at these stores, as they are both unlikely to
attend LLL meetings and more likely to be able to afford LC fees J

The store recently became a rental station for Medela pumps, and so I've
been struggling with a way to approach the owner in a constructive way. If
she refers moms to me, her pump rentals will likely go down (at least, I
hope so). I haven't spoken with her yet, so I don't know if she is actually
a supporter of breastfeeding, or if she's one of those people who just
doesn't get it and thinks that a pump is a good long-term solution for
challenges, or to give moms back their 'freedom', etc. (doesn't anyone else
wonder why these people had children in the first place, if it's so
inconvenient?)

Has anyone been in the situation of trying to get referrals to their private
practice from a vendor who is essentially a competitor? I'm afraid I'll
just end up alienating her, which is certainly not my goal, but neither is
tact my best thing, usually.

Thanks!

Ingrid
