Kristen says, "I once saw a metaphor for breastfeeding posted here on
Lactnet that talked about breastfeeding your child for one hour, one day,
one week, one month, one year,
etc."

Kristen, I believe you may be looking for Diane Wiessinger's "What If I Want
to Wean My Baby?":
http://www.wiessinger.baka.com/bfing/breastvbottle/wean.html

I don't think you mean a metaphor, though, do you? - "The application of a
word or phrase to an object or concept it does not literally denote, in
order to suggest comparison with another object or concept, as in 'A mighty
fortress is our God'" (Random House College Dictionary). An aphorism,
perhaps? Or there might be another article similar to this one that *does*
use metaphors.

Anyone else?

Barb Strange
