Fellow Lactneters,

Here's our problem.  Mom called with this scenerio:  Baby is 6 months old, she
is totally breastfeed, Mom started giving small amount of fruit one time per
day.  She started her period 3 months ago, and since then has noticed a decrease
in her milk supply a few days before her period begins.  She begins pumping with
an adequate pump a few days before menses starts, and it takes her 2 weeks to
bring her supply up to where it was before menses started.

She takes:  Fenugreek 8-12 tablets a day, Blessed Thistle, MSM (sulfur
compound), Osteo-soy which contains:  ca. mg. folic acid, B12, zinc, cu,
Herbs:   chaste berry, dong-quai, lictorice root, silica, Vit B -400.

She has breastfeed her 2 other children, one for 5 months and the other for 8.

Does anyone have any ideas what would cause the milk supply to decrease each
month right before her menses?  Any ideas as what to do to prevent this from
occuring?
