Hello Sarah,

Pump rental is not ethically tricky in itself.
Where do you see the tricky points...?
Pumps are not a WHO-code-product.
You are not allowed to advertise products under the WHO-code scope.
You are not supposed to advertise for a non-WHO-code-compliant manufacturer.
You can, however, let people in your area know that you rent pumps.
Does this help...? ;-)

Bye,

Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands

Subject: [LACTNET] pump hire

Hi all,

Recently I have had several mums looking to hire a breast pump for
reasonable to very good reasons. I have been nervous of getting into pump
hire as it seems tricky ethically. However it may help make my private
practice more viable long term. Any thoughts from any of you wise ones on
this tricky issue?

Many thanks for your help with my last question in October.

Best wishes,

Sarah McCann. BScHons. IBCLC.
