Marie, this is a pet peeve of mine also.  I am very interested in your
handout called " What Is a Lactation Consultant?"   22 of the nurses on the
postpartum unit are "certified"??!!  It's great PR.  The problem is the lay
public does not differentiate.  Of course , the head of the lactation program
failed the IBLCE exam -- relied too much on years of postpartum experience.
 I will begin teaching childbirth ed. soon and intend to "educate" my clients
