1.  Vegetarianism is addressed in all the major texts:  Lawrence, Riordan
and Auerbach, etc., and LLL has publications too. The main issue is whether
or not the mother is eating dairy products.  If she is, there really isn't
any issue because she will be receiving all of the nutrients that a meat
eater is.  If she isn't, she can go back to the old version of Frances Moore
Lappé's Diet for a Small Planet and read up on how to combine legumes with
wheat, or corn with beans, etc., to assure that the correct amino acids are
present together to form the proteins that she needs.  Remember, most of the
world's population is vegetarian, or mostly vege.
 
2.  I have to reveal a major ignorance:  why the debate over breastfeeding
vs. breast-feeding?  Is it because one is a real word, and the other is like
an alternative type of "feeding"?  Really, I know we are all supposed to be
up to speed on these controversies , but I am not. Help!
