Upon closer inspection, (as opposed to what I heard on the news), they
studied ABM when sterilized inside the clear plastic bottles and it released
chemicals that cause problems in lab animals. EBM was not studied. Their
method of heating is not specified, nor is the temperature of the ABM. This
does not mean that no chemicals are released when heating EBM under hot
running water, it just means that we don't know.

Consumer Reports is a pretty big magazine in the states and I would say is
generally respected. Certainely it is not a fringe publication. (I have no
personal affiliation with Consumer Reports.)

They recommend using bottles made of glass or polyethylene. The bottles I
had around the house were all of the polycarbonate / leaching type.
