Hi All,

I am giving myself permission to post, since this post is about myself! :) I am
pregnant with daughter #2, and weaned daughter #1 in my early pregnancy
when she was about 2 years 8,9,10 months- somewhere around there. I am
sad to say I have no idea the date of her last nursing, for many reasons that I
will expand on... In my early pregnancy, I got the normal sore nipples, but
along with that, was very disgusted and resentful of my daughter wanting to
nurse. I couldn't physically think about nursing, and had to walk away from
her numerous crys and pleas to nurse. While now I feel guilty that she was
weaned this way, then I just wanted her to stop. Has anyone else ever
experienced this?

And, now that my due date is getting closer, I am having a hard time thinking
about nursing daughter #2. When I do think about it, I get that same
disgusted feeling I had while weaning daughter #1. While I know I will nurse,
since the alternative is not acceptable to me, I am wondering if this feeling
will go away when the baby is born?

Also, just to add... I grew up in a very loving 2 parent enviroment, wasn't
nursed as a baby but now get great support from my mother. I still have no
problems helping a mother nurse, and don't get this disgusted feeling when I
see a breastfeeding infant- in fact, I look at the diad with great love and
respect. So, I can't figure out why I am feeling this way about nursing again?

And a funny story to cap it all off... When I was weaning, I often told my
daughter there was no more milk. One day I was in the bathroom getting
ready for work, and she came up with a baby bottle and filled it with water. I
looked at her and said "Emma, we don't use bottles in this house, we nurse
our babies". (previoulsy every time her babys got "hungry", she would lift her
shirt and nurse them!) She looked at me and replied "there's no more milk in
my nipples mommy"!

Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated. Or, just letting me know
that you've had similiar experiences would be great! I just want to make sure
this feeling will go away when I have the second baby!
