I hope I don't open up a volatile subject, but I've had some ideas recently.

Has anyone ever sued a hospital for negligence in relation to breastfeeding?
I know it would be very hard to prove damage, or harm, since formula (or
"not breastfeeding") is considered a normal and healthy alternative. But
what about a small claims complaint for a situation in which iatrogenic
breastfeeding difficulties cost a family considerable financial stress (pump
rental, time lost from work, LC visits, other therapies for infant such as
CST, chiro, etc.)? Money, I think speaks a lot louder than trying to argue
emotional damages, however valid they may be.

I will admit I am bringing this topic up in light of MY OWN situation, and
asking for personal help is not permitted on Lactnet - but I feel strongly
that this subject is relevant to others, and a succesful case could set a
precedent.

any thoughts?
