But this is the same illogical rationale that some people use to
insist that a baby learn to take a bottle.  What if the baby has
never had a bottle and the mother is killed?  How will the baby eat?
It isn't a logical argument.  First the baby will eat.  Mother's
dying while infants were very young has happened before and babies
tend to be more traumatized by the sudden loss of mother than the
loss of nutrition.

My children have never liked being away from me until they were old
enough to view staying home with Daddy or Grandmother as being fun.
And I never thought that the stress in making them  "get used to it"
was worth the slight possibility that I might die.

Sorry, I just don't agree with this.
