Hi Gonneke
Clearly, your country is not the skin cancer capital of the world.
Australian babies are socialised to wear their hats (and sunscreen and sun
glasses) from a very very young age. Northern European skins are not
compatible with the tropical/subtropical sunshine.
I hate the very notion of using a cover when breastfeeding - anywhere.
There are laws here that make it an offense to ask a woman to leave a public
place (or cease feeding her infant). However, for those who feel the need,
a broad-brimmed hat does seem a nice compromise. Much better than the
brightly coloured shawl or receiving blanket that simply screams, "LOOK AT
ME I'M BREASTFEEDING!".
Cheers
Nina Berry
