I find the approach overly careful.  The mother will not become infectious
within a few hours of a needle stick.  Virus need to multiply, find cells to
live in, and only when there are lots of virus around, then they can become
infectious.  Certainly continuing breastfeeding in this situation should
have been suggested, as results were coming back so soon.
