I would refer you to the wonderful information on thrush in the most current 
Breastfeeding Answer Book. I make copies for moms when they want to know 
about over the counter treatments, dietary guidelines, etc. because I am not 
a medical professional. I also tell moms it often takes a long time to cure, 
several weeks if not a month. I am always hesitant to give medical advice, 
which is sounds like she is asking for. I am much more comfortable giving 
written information.
