The new CDC 2000 growth charts are a much better composite of the way babies grow. The old ones were based on a white, middleclass, bottlefed population!!! These new ones are a mixture of American babies, both bottle and breast fed. you will find most babies will fit nicely, and the ones who really do have growth problems will stand out. Go to your search engine, and find CDC growth charts, and the site will pop up. You can download your own. Look them over carefully because one set takes 4 pages to print out and has no table to write in monthly weights, while the other combines wt and ht on one page, and wt for ht comparison plus a graph for head circum on the second page. michelle scott, MA, RD, IBCLC in NH

PS If you browse thru the site there is information on how the data for the charts was compiled, and the history of growth charts.
